Exterior

The first thing I did when I got the car home was bought some new tires.  I got four BF Goodrich Radial T/A's from Sears.

Here are some pictures from right after I got it.

In the summer of '99 I took the car to a body shop and had them put a new nose, doors and hood on.  They also cut the rust off and welded new metal to the quarter panels.  The stripes were removed and all the panels were sanded down to bare metal.  Then it was all covered in '99 Corvette Silver.  The guys at the shop spent a week wet sanding, then put the Monte Carlo SS decals on the doors and the trunk lid.  I also had them put a Chevy bowtie emblem on the back of the spoiler, and paint the grill black, but not around the headlights.  I think the black around the headlights makes the front end look too heavy.

The next thing I did was put new weather-stripping around the doors and windows.  I got them from Steele Rubber Products.  They cost only about $150 and  work good at keeping the wind and rain out.
